Made my own coleslaw today and just seeing all those colours made me so happy, so I’m sharing it with all of you 🌈
Roasting vegetables and incorporating them into mac & cheese seems to be the theme of lockdown for me. Today’s experiment was sprouts roasted with bacon and maple syrup. Weird at first but I’m definitely doing it again 🥓
Lasagne is just the best thing ever, isn’t it? One thing about isolation is that I have had to make my own lasagne - something I never do as my dad is the Lasagne King 👑 Turns out, mine was entirely decent!
Ach I may as well share what I’m cooking considering I’m going absolutely nowhere! I was inspired by @cateinthekitchen and sliced some leeks, diced onion and grated sad looking potatoes & parsnips. Gently fried them off with Season All, paprika & turmeric, stirred in some cooked ham & grated cheese when it was nearly done. I then made a well in the centre, cracked in an egg & popped the lid on to finish it. Topped with sriracha & spring onion. Absolutely bangin 🔥
Social distancing staples: my hot tub, rum & local takeaway👙🥃🍕 Hope everyone is following the rules keeping yourselves entertained!
AD - gifted meal | Up on the blog now - my beautiful afternoon tea at Callendar House. What a beautiful building, gardens and tasty food ☕️🍰🌳
Oysters - yay or nay? I was always an open minded seafood fanatic, but when it came to oysters something just made me hesitant. I eventually tried them, and as I was swallowing my very first oyster my sister said “Haha it looks like a...” - I’ll spare you all the end of the sentence - comment with what you think they look like 🤣 that experience of hitting the boke as I was trying to swallow wasn’t great. So I avoided them until I came to @kapaogla and @glasgowfoodgeek insisted that I just try them. I LOVED them, and regret the years I’ve missed out on with oysters! These are topped with green nam jim which is a spicy coriander-y relish/sauce. Very punchy and gorgeous!
I am SO happy it’s Saturday - what an exhausting week! Long lie, delicious breakfast and nothing but chilling out on the menu for this weekend for me. Pictured is a Vegetarian Breakfast which I sabotaged by adding bacon, because bacon 🥓
If you think salads are boring, you’re doing it wrong hun. I love salads, and I always have. This was a very different salad to the ones I make myself mind you; this was a luxurious salad! Stunning grilled beef with a garlic and lemongrass flavoured shallot dressing on the greens, and it was all topped with toasted coconut. It was both rich but also light and moreish. Loved it 👌🏼
