My first visit to Platform at The Arches on Argyle Street was a great success - I LOVE that place! Such a great atmosphere, it’s nice and spacious and very importantly, there is plenty seating! Definitely one of the best street food markets I’ve been to! I accidentally on purpose ate dinner before I went (my other half makes a stunning prawn linguini and I wasn’t about to let him eat it alone 🐷) After a wee Prosecco I opted for a snack from @freddyandhicks - oh my, these loaded fries were so delicious! Super crispy sweet potato fries loaded with grilled halloumi, home made tomato salsa, jalapeños, lemon tahini, sriracha mayo (vegan available) and coriander! It should’ve had olives but despite loving them, I hate them in dishes 😂
Ahhh Glasgow Christmas markets! Always a pleasure.... I say that but last year we went for a “wee drink” before eating at the market and spent too much time in the pub and the market shut so we technically missed it 😂 This year we had a nibble before the pub and I was instantly drawn to the halloumi fries with buffalo sauce & ranch!
Hummus Chicken Shawarma 🥗 This was absolutely phenomenal. I feel thoroughly nourished! I’ve seen a few posts about it and I wasn’t totally convinced I’d try it, but I’m so glad I did! What a mixture of flavours - from the harissa to the artichokes to the pickes - a huge range and it just worked so beautifully. The chicken had such amazing flavours from the hummus and the meat was crispy on the outside and tender inside. I was starving and didn’t manage to finish it due to ordering sides, so if you’re ordering this then you’re in for a REALLY good feed 😍🍗
I am all about the comfort food these days! This is a beautiful Greek alternative to lasagne - Pastitsio! Lamb and beef mince fed into pasta tubes in a rich tomato sauce, topped with bechamel sauce and Kefalotyri cheese! I ordered this as part of their amazing 2 for £10 decal and can not recommend it enough - Plato is one of my absolute favourite restaurants! 🇬🇷
‘‘Tis the season! I am absolutely hot chocolate daft at this time of year and my hands-down favourite is always Options mint flavour. I was offered a complementary hot chocolate after my brunch at @theivyglasgow, and when she said that mint hot chocolate was an option (haha...unintentional) I was DELIGHTED. I love that it was served with a warmed jug with more hot chocolate in it so you can top yourself up! Amazing ☕️❄️
Meddled with the vegetarian breakfast at @theivyglasgow and added smoked bacon - I regret nothing! This was SO tasty! Perfect poached eggs with hollandaise, avocado, grilled halloumi, tomatoes, beans and a tattie scone - with their delicious smoky bacon added for good measure. What a feast 😍
Me: I want to try something new, experiment, experience more of the vast wonders and beauty of Italian cooking. Also me: chooses something on the menu, has an internal crisis as the waitress arrives to the table, orders seafood linguini because I haven’t tried it in *this* restaurant yet. 🍝💁🏻‍♀️
#INVITED | Today wasn’t a great day, but tonight was an amazing night! Melted cheese makes me so, so happy! I was invited to @innisandgunnashtonlane tonight to attend a showcase of @brigstonandco who supply them with their gourmet hot dogs. The chefs used the hot dogs in several different ways which I’ll share with you in due course, and this one is my absolute favourite! A bowl of melted @cowsandco Brie with @brigstonandco sausage & bacon pastry skewers. Heavenly 😍 Innis & Gunn absolutely need to get this onto their menu, pronto!
Always a pleasure, Plato! Whilst the a la Carter menu is always excellent value for money, Plato are running a phenomenal deal at the moment for 2 courses for £10 for selected times all week! Their food is to die for, so this price is honestly outrageous! I went today for an early lunch and I’m so stuffed I won’t be needing a dinner either! This restaurant is one of my firm favourites - I totally recommend it to anyone who hasn’t yet tried them out! 🇬🇷❤️
