Today I have woken up dehydrated because I forgot (couldn’t be bothered) to take a glass of water to bed. This has resulted in me craving tasty things. I might need to book a flight back to Madrid to have this Serrano ham, avocado and tomato beauty 🥖🥓🥑
I thought I’d give a shout out to my absolute favourite bar in Glasgow: The Howlin’ Wolf. It’s is my go-to place if I don’t have a fixed plan, or I’ll end up there after a fixed plan if I’m up to mischief and decide not to get the last train home! It’s a great dark bar to go and hear tunes and drink hard liquor 🥃🎸Why do I love it so much? They open til 3am 7 days a week, have live music every night - with blues and soul being the general genres - and their food is incredible. I love their food for the quality, but better yet... it’s served til 2am 😍👌🏼 We went last night and despite having a staffing issue, they really went out of their way to get us a scran at midnight! I go here after gigs, after events, after other places close, or just go here for some rum ‘n’ tacos ❤️
I am SO full of noodles right now. After the shock of being back at work after the summer holiday, a big ol’ bowl of noodles was just what I needed! I probably love any ramen dish, but today the words ‘kimchi’ and ‘chilli prawn’ really appealed to me! 🍜
First trip to Bucks was a great success! Buffalo wings with blue cheese sauce (I want to try other sauce combinations but I love this one too much ), mac ‘n’ cheese and some rainbow slaw! The tunes they play are also top notch! I am SO full of chicken right now! If anyone needs me I’ll be in my pyjamas on the couch 🍗🍗🍗
Surf n Turf doesn’t get much better than sweet langoustines from ‘across the road’ in Tobermory! This was a perfect steak with all the trimmings 🍴🥩
The cast of The Little Mermaid with a delicious Tuscan sauce. I absolutely love dishes like this - so hearty and delicious! I’m recreating it for my dinner tonight...well, I’ll try! I won’t be able to compete with fresh fish that comes from the water that the restaurant sits directly on top of! 🎣
Wednesday is the night I have dinner with my gran, and quite often we have a chippy dinner with s cuppa and watch Coronation Street. I don’t think I’ll ever want one again after this one, as it just can’t be beaten! The views of Tobermory and a smoked haddock supper. It was the single most delicious supper I’ve ever had! Nothing will beat it! All chippies need to get onto this and make it a thing! ▫️
📍 Fisherman’s Pier Fish ‘n’ Chips
Rainy days like today are a lovely break from the muggy heat, but a tiny part of me longs to be back in sunny scenarios like last week! Here I am in my favourite pub on the Isle of Mull - “the yellow one”, also known as The Mishnish, and on this particular visit I was matching their iconic walls! 💛☀️
I love cucumbers. In an average week I probably eat 3 cucumbers to facilitate my houmous addiction and they’re a staple part of salads and sandwiches. I also enjoy pickling them! What I HAVEN’T tried is this taste sensation - smashed cucumbers with toasted sesame tahini & chilli oil! It’s such a gorgeously fresh dish that I’ll need to recreate myself for snacks! 🥒🌶
